Passage: Matthew 21:13
Duration: 25 mins

Are You Saved?

Many Christians use the word 'saved' as a term for going to heaven, but have you ever considered that the term is broader than this?"  The word 'saved' implies of course that you are being rescued from something. Many Christians use the word 'saved' as a term to talk about eternal life, but in the Bible Paul often talks about being saved as being rescued from becoming dead. Salvation ultimately means salvation from death.

So what is it that causes us to die?  When people give their hearts and their lives to things which are not God they die because God is the only source of life.  These ‘gods’ can give you little bits of pleasure, if you worship money, sex and power or sport or whatever it is, you're saying that these things can give you spiritual life - which of course, they can't!

You will die. What Jesus offers us is the opportunity to truly live in this life to partner with God in looking after the earth and in the next to enjoy His company forever.  I find that pretty exciting and that's part of why I tell others.  How about you? Pastor Andrew
