The 7 Habits That We Practise

These 7 habits form a spiritual lifestyle which we encourage people to practise:

1. Pray Daily
(1 Thess. 5:17) - The habit of prayer is what breath is to life. In whatever way you pray, it is daily

2. Worship together weekly
(Hebrews 10:25) - Corporate weekly worship is the cornerstone of the week. When we cannot attend a service, we will meet for worship with family or friends

3. Read the Bible regularly
(2 Tim: 3:16-17) - The Bible is our textbook. We will study and meditate upon its contents regularly

4. Build friendships for accountability and growth
(James 5:16) - No person is an island. Brothers and sisters are given to sharpen and support us. We strongly encourage everyone who attends to join a CONNECT group and develop other Christian friendships within the church. Note: Please be proactive!

5. Live and give generously (including tithing)
(1 Cor. 16:2, 1 Tim. 6:18-19) - We will seek first the Kingdom of God with our financial resources. God’s church has first claim on our giving. The tithe is a biblical guideline to foster generosity

6. Serve God in the Church and in His world
(Romans 12:6-8, Genesis 2:15) - Everyone has a ministry in the church regardless of occupation or educational achievements. Each family member has a responsibility - we are responsible for the earth, the care of its eco-systems and the welfare of its people

7. Talk openly about our faith
(1 Peter 3:15) - We explain our lifestyle and beliefs with our words.

We encourage people to practise these habits because when we do, our relationship with God tends to flourish. Although PBC does not take a legalistic view of these practices and how they are performed, membership represents a commitment to trying to practice these habits as part of a larger group
